Ian M. S. Royer is an entrepreneur specializing in Public Relations, Marketing and Production. He is also an award winning copywriter with over 10 years industry experience. In addition to his professional activities he has spent over 15 years working in the Civil Society alongside local and international UN Bodies and NGOs focused on youth development especially in the arena of HIV.
Currently he is the Chief Creative Officer of Anansi Tales Marketing , a boutique marketing and PR company in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ian has worked with several brands and influencers in his career, including Fantasy & Entice Carnival, Dr. Rachael Eckel, Shannon Hutchinson, The National Carnival Comission of Trinidad and Tobago, Starlite Collection, The Guardian Media Group – Metro Magazine & The Xx, WAGS LA, Caribbean’s Next Top Model, TEDxPortOfSpain and TEDxYouth, and more.
In the Civil Society he began volunteering with the United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago alongside the Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain managing the Model United Nations Program for the country since 2002. From 2006 he began working with Dr. Djibril Diallo then of UNDP and began his work in HIV in 2010. He has since worked on several youth forums such as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting CYF7, the Fifth Summit of the Americas, the UNAIDS Mali Youth Summit, the UNAIDS HLM 2011, the International Aids Conference 2012 and more. He was the Co-Chair to the Campaign to End AIDS Youth Forum from 2010 to 2012. Ian has held the position of the Regional Focal Point for the Caribbean to the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS from 2012 to 2014. As a result of his youth work in Trinidad and Tobago he is among the youngest recipients of the Rotary Club International’s highest award – The Paul Harris Fellowship. Ian has also sat on the UNAIDS Youth Advisory Board, and mentored youth for the Queen’s Youth Leadership Awards for H.M. Queen Elizabeth.
